A Soft Radiance

Rather than paint a dramatic sunset using vivid yellows, brilliant oranges, deep reds and purples, this painting depicts a quieter setting of the sun with pale blues, yellows, subtle pinks, oranges and purples. To prevent the pale colors from appearing washed out the piece relies on the creation of luminosity to enhance the perception of light and glow. Ocean Point, East Boothbay, Maine.
