Morning Sail

I had two goals in mind when I worked on this little painting. First to capture the glint of sunlight on the water and second to capture the sense of movement of the sailboat as it raced across the water.  Each presented bit of a challenge- how many highlights on the waves, how deep should the color of the blue sea water be, exactly how much billowing of the sails.   Nonetheless this piece was definitely a fun scene to paint.
