Frenchman Bay Close Up

When edging closer to the roiling water as it makes landfall the power of the breaking surf on the Maine coast on Mount Desert Island is palpable. The challenge of this painting lay in communicating this sense of power. I chose to paint this energy through variations in the white frothy water.
